Located on the greenfield site at 33-45 Main Street, Rutherglen Victoria, 3685 a new public sector Residential Aged Care facility is being proposed on the triangular parcel of land bounded by Nott, Hunter and Main Street in Rutherglen.

This new purpose built public aged care facility it to be operated by Indigo North Health which provides care for the community in living in Rutherglen and the surrounding area.

Known as the Rutherglen Residential Aged Care Development (RACD) it will replace the existing and expand on the existing aged care facilities on the Glenview and will accommodate 50 residential aged care bedrooms with the future expansion up to 60 beds. The site will also incorporate a new integrated Allied Health facility for INH for the provision of GP, Physiotherapy, Podiatry and other ambulatory health services to the broader Rutherglen community.

This new facility is part of the government strategy to build modern larger scale aged care facilities that better meets the community expectations. The facility to included single rooms with private ensuites, dementia friendly design and better support people in the community with complex care needs.
